However, admission to practice criminal law is granted in all regions and all judicial instances, which means that we are permitted to act as defence counsel in front of any prosecuting authority and in all the criminal courts in Germany. I was admitted as an attorney in Düsseldorf in 1989 and was previously a research assistant in the department for criminal law and laws of criminal procedure, the head of which was Professor Dr. O. Ranft (Bayreuth University). Since 1989 I have defended numerous criminal cases in all fields and became a specialist attorney for criminal law in 1997.
